Protecting You and Your Business from the Heartbleed Bug

Keller Williams is committed to protecting the digital privacy and security of our associates and the clients we serve.
As soon as the KW Technology Team learned about the potentially disruptive Heartbleedbug, we tested our systems for vulnerabilities. We are pleased to report that our systems have not been compromised. We also reached out to our technology partners to determine if they had been affected. Again, we are pleased to share that the security of our associates and clients does not appear to have been breached.
Below are responses from the major technology providers who help power the KW productivity tools you rely on every day, from the KW mobile app to our lead-to-close transaction system, eEdge.
While your primary work tools appear safe, we encourage you to take safeguards with other websites, services or apps that you use. For a partial list of affected products, click here.
We will update this page if new information becomes available.
Productivity ToolVendor NameIs it secure? What are they saying?
eEdge myTransactionsdotloopYesdotloop is not affected by the Heartbleed bug. dotloop does not use the offending implementation of OpenSSL in www.dotloop.com or dotloop.com. As a result, Heartbleed does not present a risk to the dotloop application.
eEdge myMarketingMarket LeaderYesNone of Market Leader’s systems have been affected by this security flaw. And none of the systems or services we provide to our customers or employees have been affected by this flaw.
Google Apps for BusinessGoogleYes*We’ve assessed this vulnerability and applied patches to key Google services such as Search, Gmail, YouTube, Wallet, Play, Apps, App Engine, AdWords, DoubleClick, Maps, Maps Engine and Earth. Google Chrome and Chrome OS are not affected. We are still working to patch some other Google services. *Google suggests changing your password as a precaution.
KW Mobile App SoftwareSmarter AgentYesSmarter Agent tested our infrastructure, updated security keys (as a precaution) and upgraded OpenSSL to the latest version as needed. We did this in our Live Production Environment, QA as well as all our Development Environments to ensure everything was secure. We believe we protected KW Mobile from any vulnerabilities that may exist due to the Heartbleed security concerns, and while doing this did not pose any adverse reactions to your application’s stability or accessibility.
KW Mobile App ListingsWolfNetYesThe SSL and servers WolfNet uses were not and are not vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug. We have completed numerous internal and external tests to verify that this vulnerability does not exist anywhere on our systems.

Password Safety

Here are a few tips to ensure that your password keeps your protected:
  • Always create a strong password. A strong password is one that is at least eight characters long, is significantly different from your previous passwords, and contains a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (such as !, @, # or $)
  • Avoid reusing the same password for multiple accounts
  • Update your password on a regular basis. You should change your passwords at least every 90 days
  • Do not share your password with anyone. If you must write it down to remember it, keep it in a safe and secure location where others cannot access it
